Welcome
In 2010, funding from NIHR contributed to the completion of the 5-storey Southampton Centre for Biomedical Research, which incorporates and enlarges the existing clinical facilities of the WTCRF. The Centre currently comprises the WTCRF, the two Southampton NIHR Biomedical Research Units, the NIHR CR UK Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, the Trust's shadow BRUs and R&D department, and associated clinical research groups. The new building was officially opened on 24 March 2011 by Andrew Lansley CBE MP, Secretary of State for Health, accompanied by NIHR Director and Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies.
