- Brief description of centre
Barts and the London ECMC is a joint initiative between the Institute of Cancer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and the Cancer Clinical Academic Unit at Barts and The London NHS Trust. The ECMC is co-located and run in combination with the North East London Cancer Research Network.
The Barts and The London Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre has specialist expertise in the following areas:- Gene therapy

The patient facilities within the Barts and The London Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre are based at the St Bartholomew's (West Smithfield) site. Facilities include:- An Experimental Medicines Unit
- In-patient cancer services comprise 80 beds, with 35 beds for haematological oncology including 14 isolation beds for bone marrow transplantation; 45 beds for medical oncology and clinics
- A 15 bedded hostel allowing patients to be treated in an outpatient setting
- Two dedicated day wards for outpatient treatment
- There is 1 Lead Cancer Research Nurse, 16 research nurses, 7 Clinical Research Assistants, 2 data managers, 3 trial co-ordinators, an honorary genetic counsellor, a QA manager, a Biostatistician and a Research Pharmacist
