What types of facilities are included on this website?

When this website was launched it was intended to represent all UK experimental medicine facilities supported by funds awarded by UKCRC Partners following a competitive review process including:

• Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facilities
• Clinical Research Facilities funded by the Wellcome Trust, NIHR and partners in the Clinical Research Infrastructure Initiative
• NIHR Biomedical Research Centres
• NIHR Biomedical Research Units
• Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres
• MRC Translational Medicine Centres

Following launch of the website a number of other experimental medicine facilities expressed an interest in being included on the site. The Management Group overseeing the development of this resource agreed that additional facilities should be included if they meet a number of specific minimum criteria and are comparable and compatible with the existing peer reviewed facilities.
