Who developed the UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources site?

UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources has been developed by the National Institute for Health (NIHR) Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (formerly the UK Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre) on behalf of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.

Who has overseen the development of this resource?

The development of this site has been overseen by a Management Group comprising representatives from Cancer Research UK, the Department of Health in England, the Medical Research Council and the Wellcome Trust.

Who maintains the UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources site?

The UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources site is maintained by the Experimental Medicine team within the NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre.

All facilities registered on the site are required to provide regular updates to ensure that the information is kept up-to-date and accurate. A simple procedure has been developed to facilitate this.

A copy of the update form can be downloaded here.

About the UK Clinical Research Collaboration

  • The UK Clinical Research Collaboration is a partnership of organisations working to establish the UK as a world leader in clinical research, by harnessing the power of the NHS.
  • One of UKCRC's activities is infrastructure building, of which the development of a coherent National Framework for Experimental Medicine is a key component.
  • Within this National Framework, UKCRC Partners have developed a coordinated initiative with three different elements of investment, two of which provide new infrastructure and a third of which supports research.

About the UK Clinical Research Network

  • The UK Clinical Research Network is a non-profit making organisation which was established in February 2005, with funding from the Department of Health, to support clinical research and to facilitate the conduct of randomised controlled trials and other well-designed studies across the UK.
  • The UKCRN is a key component of the UKCRC which brings together the major stakeholders that influence clinical research in the UK and particularly the NHS.
