What types of facilities are eligible for inclusion on this website?
All clinical research facilities/ units that have a distinct, research dedicated clinical space for the conduct of investigative science are eligible. This will include:
- Academic clinical research facilities funded by a UKCRC partner following a competitive review process
- Independently established academic clinical research facilities
- Health department funded clinical research facilities
- Clinical imaging facilities
- Commercially funded clinical research units.
Clinical trials units or contract research organisations solely providing trial set-up and monitoring are not eligible for inclusion on this site.
How do I get my clinical research facility/ unit registered on UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources?
Facilities wishing to be considered for inclusion on the UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources site should complete an application form. The application form collects information on a number of specific key competencies and evaluation criteria and it comes with guidance notes which explain the requirements in detail. These requirements have been developed in order to ensure that facilities included on the UKCRC Experimental Medicine Resources site meet a minimum set of core criteria and conform to an agreed framework for clinical research facilities.
Application forms and guidance notes can be downloaded here.
Application forms will be checked for completeness by the NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre prior to review by an expert panel which makes recommendations to the Management Group. The expert review panel includes representatives at operational and director level from experimental medicine facilities currently included on the website. Additional or future members may be invited to join the review panel as necessary in the future.
Applicant facilities will be informed on the Management Groups decision within 6 months of submission.
How often will the review panel meet?
The review panel will meet twice yearly.
