The Oxford NIHR Biomedical Research Centre is a partnership between the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Oxford.  It has been made possible by a grant from the Department of Health's National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

The Oxford NIHR Biomedical Research Centre undertakes 'translational research', which means taking laboratory research into a clinical setting. This kind of research is about first-time studies of medical innovations in patients, which are intended to improve healthcare delivery for the benefit of all patients.
