Full time 37.5 hours a week - permanent contract
The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (WTCRF) is part of a national initiative to increase clinical research capacity in the UK. This is funded by a consortium led by the Wellcome Trust, and is an exciting new development for the Birmingham Children's Hospitals Foundation Trust (BCHFT).
The WTCRF will provide day case, outpatient and investigational facilities for paediatric clinical research studies and will be staffed by a cohort of 6-8 nurses, administration and technical staff. The vision is to centralise and increase research, which is currently dispersed across the hospital; and provide education, research training and professional development for Trust research staff. The facility will operate between the hours of 08:00-18.00.
As the Clinical Manager you will be responsible for the recruitment of the facilities staff, the operational management, strategic planning and development of the WTCRF; and will provide clinical research leadership to staff working both within the facility and throughout BCHFT.
Educated to Masters degree level which supports a professional research role you will have extensive clinical experience, of which some will have been spent in a research environment.
The WTCRF will work closely with the WTCRF at University Hospital Birmingham and with the Medicines for Children Research Network. BCH offers excellent training and development opportunities and flexible working.
