The Imperial NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) exists to drive innovation and translation of research findings into clinical benefits for patients. Activities of the Imperial NIHR BRC are overseen by the Imperial Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) Research Committee which has representation from all Clinical Programme Groups (CPGs) in Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the Schools, Institutes and Departments within the Faculty of Medicine, and Faculties across Imperial College London.

The Imperial NIHR BRC undertakes translational research, which means taking the findings from basic research more quickly and efficiently into medical practice and, thus, improving health outcomes for our patients.

The Imperial NIHR BRC provides substantial support to create an environment where biomedical innovation can thrive across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London. This environment enables our researchers to translate their findings from the research environment in the laboratory into improvements for patients and impact on health outcomes.
