Glasgow Clinical Research Facility

Welcome

The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is an exciting new initiative in a city that is already acclaimed for its clinical research legacy. The changing legal and regulatory environment in which we all must now work has meant that the centralisation of research services is essential. The Glasgow CRF aims to provide a framework for this centralisation process and, in so doing, to offer new levels of support to investigators and patients across the city.

The Glasgow CRF was established on April 1st 2006 by an NHS Clinical Research Grant Agreement with the CSO.  The Glasgow CRF is therefore an NHS initiative but we work closely with partners in higher education - principally the Universities of Glasgow, Strathclyde, Paisley and Glasgow Caledonian University.

The hub of the Glasgow CRF has been created in the Tennent Building at the Western Infirmary and a major new development is underway in the East of the city to create a new satellite CRF at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The recent refurbishment of a clinical research area at the Yorkhill site has further expanded Glasgow Clinical CRF by providing a dedicated area with research nurses and administrative staff to support paediatric research.
