Welcome
In December 2006 the Department of Health announced the creation of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the UCL Institute of Child Health (ICH) Biomedical Research Centre for Child Health.
The award of centre status is recognition of the outstanding research and worldwide scientific and clinical importance of the work done by GOSH/ICH. Research within the Centre is focused on experimental research (ie proof of concept or first-in-human studies) and includes the following three research themes:
- Molecular basis of childhood disease
- Gene, stem and cellular therapy
- Novel therapies for childhood diseases
