Addenbrooke's Clinical Research Centre (ACRC) incorporates two purpose built research facilties these two facilities are located within the ACCI building.
Cambridge Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (CRF) was established with the aim of providing purpose-built, dedicated clinical research facilities for use by the local research community, where patients/volunteers can participate in research programmes safely and effectively according to robust, ethically approved trial protocols.
The Cambridge Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility is a joint venture between Addenbrooke’s Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge University and the Wellcome Trust and is one of five centres across the UK established using the Wellcome Trust Millennial Grant for Clinical Research Facilities.
The Clinical Investigation Ward (CIW) is a joint venture between Addenbrooke’s Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge University and is funded through the NIHR CBRC.
The aim of these facilities is to support experimental medicine studies.
